Smoke

Smokey eye is a classic look and can be done in a variety of ways, softer for daytime and stronger for evening.  For Abbey’s smokey look I opted for drama and depth to complement her dark hair.  Firstly I primed the eyes using Bobbi Brown long-wear gel eyeliner painted straight onto the lid right up to the crease, it is important to work quickly with this product blending it into the crease for a smooth base.  For the next step I applied eyeshadow using  MAC matt shadow in typographic pressing it on top of the first layer with an eyeshadow brush, then taking a larger brush moving in small circular motions to blend and smoke the product to just beyond the crease.  Working only with the product that was left on my brush I worked along the lower lashes, using fine strokes in towards the tear duct and blending out to the outer corner of the eye.  In order to make those piercing blue eyes really sparkle, I lined the lower lash line with a creamy pencil to really open up the eyes.
To finish off the look I applied three coats of black mascara.
