The History of Mother’s Day

Did you know that celebrations of Mother’s Day can be traced all the way back to the ancient Greeks and Romans who used to hold festivals in honour of the Mother Goddesses Cybele and Rhea.

The most modern listed Mother’s Day is Mothering Sunday which is in fact not just a day, as some believe created by card companies, but actually a Christian festival which dates back to the 1600’s in England.
