Bridal Floristry

Looking forward to a summer filled with glorious bridal floristry work and magnificent blooms. Summer loving flowers of wonderful Sweet Peas and freesias in May, Peony roses in June, Cornflowers, Eringium and wild grasses in July and garden Roses, Stocks and Hydrangeas in August to name but a few!

Relaxed hand tieds and texture have been a common theme – a laid back homemade feel with varieties common to our own gardens and wild verges with scents reminiscent of the long warm days of childhood summers!

Vibrant colour palettes have been popular too – hot orange tones and electric blue hues punctuating the quieter palettes of faded vintage pinks, apricots and creams that remain a classic option.

This year I was lucky enough to work with my very best friend designing and creating her vision for her wedding day flowers, hair and makeup. For flowers she went for bold shades in velvety reds, blues and whites from which the starting point was her lifelong love of red lipstick! Rich red roses, twinkling lights, a statement red lip and vintage waves brought Hollywood Glam to an otherwise largely informal and relaxed May wedding.

Wearing flowers in your hair is a pretty choice for a bride and is a bridal trend that I am particularly enjoying at the moment! Anything from a few fresh flowers casually entwined into an up do or a full statement flower crown with relaxed curls, both equally beautiful. It is so pleasing to work with my clients creating the whole look – up do, flower headdress and makeup. There are countless combinations to explore – Fantastic!
