It is that fantastic time of year when we start to see beautiful bulbs blooming. I love planted bulb arrangements from stunning Amaryllis to scented Hyacinth and Bridal Crown Narcissi, Daffodils, Muscari and Crocus. Pretty little bulbs sit on top of the soil amongst lush green moss, bare winter twigs and dried materials.

Dressed with twinkling candles and nestled in amongst bulbs makes for a sparkling, rustic, wild woodland scene. These are perfect welcoming arrangements for a hall or coffee table, evolving from neat green shoots into full bloom, cheekily growing this way and that! Hyacinth are my particular favourites in shades of pink, white and vibrant blue with their heady scent. What is so wonderful about these plants is that they will grow without soil and are happy with their roots submerged in water, which makes them equally delightful in a contemporary minimalist setting. Popping them into a pair of shoes as a quirky arrangement as I have in this styled scene are a cute gift for a fashion lover or an unusual table centre for an occasion or event. Amaryllis too are magnificent flowers, the bulbs themselves are impressive, they grow tall with up to five huge vibrant blooms for a spectacular display that will last a long time and are a wonderful Christmas gift! The plants will look loveliest dressed up with birch and willow twigs even before the flowers appear and then will provide support to those tall stems and large flowers when they are in bloom.
