Working in Schools is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. Connecting with nature stimulates creativity and imagination in children. Nature offers endless possibilities for exploration discovery and imaginative play, which are vital for cognitive development. Experiencing nature first hand instills a sense of responsibility and stewardship towards the environment. Children who develop a connection with nature are more likely to become conscious adults and advocate for conservation efforts. Playing in nature encourages collaboration, teamwork and communication among children. It provides opportunities for social interaction, cooperation and conflict resolution, fostering the development of social skills and friendships.
Overall, a strong connection to nature enriches children’s lives by promoting holistic development and instilling values that are essential for their future wellbeing and the wellbeing of the planet.
If you are a school that would like to offer a floristry activity in support of your children’s mental health and wellbeing programme, I would love to hear from you.
